Over the years, I’ve begun to hear “you sound just like your mom” or “that was something your mom would do” more and more! Truth is, I wouldn’t have it any other way. My mom has always been my best friend and someone that I can always count on to pick up the phone when I need advise (life or fashion related) and I look forward to hearing her voice almost everyday. We have become so similar that one of us may have to change their outfit before leaving the house together because we seem to pick the same colors every time I’m home – changed out of a navy dress and she still wore an olive jacket! She is an amazing, strong, smart, beautiful, caring, and loving mother that I thank God everyday for picking me to be loved and led by her through this life.
*Gracie is my parents’ female Golden Retriever that is a proud momma too!
This is the second year we’ve gone to the Durham Performing Arts Center (DPAC) to see a play for Mother’s Day. This year we saw Chicago and it was amazing! Funny, interactive and I love love LOVE to watch dancing. My mom can be pretty theatrical sometimes so it’s no surprise that she insisted we do jazz hands in our picture (went perfectly with the musical).
“I’ll love you forever, I’ll like you for always. As long as I’m living, my Mommy you’ll be”
And I won’t forget about the Dog Mom’s out there! This is my beautiful, brown eyed, blonde haired baby boy, Duke! He’s the best cuddle bug a girl could ask for. He may start making a few more appearances on the blog with all the nice weather we are starting to have and exploring we will do!
Do you have a tradition on Mother’s Day with your mom? Any other Dog Mom’s out there that celebrate their day too?! I’d love to hear what fun you all got into too!
P.S. I’ll be sharing a post on this comfy, versatile dress soon!
